Bradley Boney of Pindari Place was convicted in Orange Local Court on Monday for possession of a prohibited weapon and 0.1 gram of methamphetamine.

According to information presented to the court, police went to the 31-year-old's house at 11.30pm on January 23, to carry out an outstanding warrant.

However, Boney ran through the back yard to Katoa Place where he was arrested.

During the arrest a bag that was around his neck was placed on the ground and Boney said it contained "a point" of ice.

He was also found in possession of nunchakus that had a 20 centimetre chain and 10 centimetre plastic ends.

Boney appeared in court via a video link from jail and was convicted without further action for the possession charges.

Solicitor Nico Rump said Boney spent two days in custody before appearing in court and he was granted bail for another matter following sentencing.
