Chloe Berryman visited Woolworths on Tuesday to buy deli meat and eggs, taking her four items to the express lane. But when she passed over a new Kmart plastic bag to the staff member at the checkout, she said she could not accept it and Ms Berryman would have to pay for a 15-cent multi-use plastic bag.

MAC-ED FOR DEMOLITION: BRAND NEW MCDONALD’S PLANNED FOR BATHURST ROAD
IT has been part of the Bathurst Road landscape for more than 30 years, but the McDonald’s restaurant is set to make way for a more modern version. Owner Todd Bryant has applied to Orange City Council to demolish the building and build a replacement on the current car park.
“Keep the tree. Who cares if it wasn't part of the old house that's no longer there. Healthy trees should remain unless they present a safety risk or they become sick. That tree has survived 30 years of Maccas fumes and concrete, so it should stay” – Gary Reid

KELLY’S HOTEL IS LIKELY TO BE SOLD AFTER 96 YEARS IN THE SAME FAMILY
One of Orange’s most iconic pubs, Kelly’s Rugby Hotel, is likely to be sold after 96 years of ownership by the one family. Owner and publican Bill Kelly said negotiations were continuing over the sale.

DECEASED IN COLLISION AT LAKE CANOBOLAS AND CARGO ROADS IDENTIFIED
THE man killed in Friday’s two-car collision at the intersection of Cargo Road and Lake Canobolas Road has been identified as Orange man Peter Anthony Skelton.

SILENT AUCTION REPLACES PUBLIC AUCTION FOR THE HOUSE YOU CAN’T ENTER
The public auction of an Orange house that has gained enormous interest among potential buyers has been called off. The house, previously owned by hoarders, also has several old cars in both the front and back yards.
