Deceased in collision at intersection of Cargo and Lake Canobolas roads identified

THE man killed in Friday’s two-car collision at the intersection of Cargo Road and Lake Canobolas Road has been identified as Orange man Peter Anthony Skelton.

The 64-year-old was driving a Hyundai Elantra when it collided with a Ford Everest.

He was transported to Orange hospital, but died before he arrived.

The 40-year-old female driver of the Everest was not injured during the incident. Mr Skelton’s funeral details will be announced later.

Officers from Central West Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

In a tribute published on page 15 of Wednesday’s Central Western Daily, Mr Skelton was remembered as a “much-loved” figure to his family and friends.
