Mr Legge said he had been able to grow lucerne and millet and now had pasture available for the sheep and cattle to feed on at his property.
However he said the drought was far from over and good autumn rains were vital for farmers in the region to have a better year than last year.

Mr Legge said he received 120 millimetres of rain before Christmas which was more than a quarter of the rainfall he had received all year.
“We certainly not out of the woods yet. The drought certainly hasn’t broken,” he said.
“Once we get a good autumn it sets up things for the whole year.
“Over the last 10-15 years it’s not that often we have got good autumn and good spring rain.”
Mr Legge said he had saved all his stock at Cudal by feeding them though they sold 400 of their 1000 ewes at their Forbes property.
