City's Troy O'Keeffe got City off to a good start and scored 87 runs before his side were bowled out for 170. Sean Donato (5-28) was the standout for CYMS.
In reply, Angus Gorman scored a classy 78, but it wasn't enough as CYMS fell 13 runs short of victory.
Cavaliers (1-81) did away with Spring Hill (77 all out easily, with Cavs' Mark Niederle finishing with 3-17.
Centrals (7-189) produced a good performance with bat and ball in their win against Kinross (36 all out). Best of the bowlers was Colin Starkey (5-7 off 7) for Centrals.
The final game of the round saw Gladstone (8-216) eek out a two wicket win over Kinross First XI (8-212). Best of the Gladstone attack was Ben McAlpine (4-19) while Walter Prowse scored 52 for Kinross.
It was a good day to be a bowler in the ODCA third grade competition.
Centrals Red knocked over CYMS in quick fashion, holding them to just 45. Grant Selwood (5-9) was the main destroyer with the ball. Centrals Red lost six wickets on their way to victory, with George Eleftheriou (3-4) continuing his good run of form.
Orange City (3-97) had less trouble against Centrals Black (96 all out). Tin Proberts was the star for City, smashing an unbeaten 43 not out off just 22 balls.
Kinross squeaked home the win over CYMS in the ODCA Centenary Cup.
The students batted first and were led by captain Zac Mason who scored 28. George Tancred (24) and Charlie Anderson (22) also proved vital as they finished their innings 9-138.
Darcy Kelly (3-31) and Harry Harry (3-29) were the best of the CYMS bowlers.
In reply, number nine Simon Livingstone put on 38 not out but it wasn't enough as they ran out of overs. Tommy Maurice (3-18) was the best of the Kinross bowlers.
Orange City made it four for four on the weekend thanks in part to James Harper whose 47 not out guided them to 5-148. Cavaliers only managed 88 in reply thanks to City's Jye Southcombe (3-5) and Isaac Clarke (3-10).
