The opener's 105 off 106 balls against CYMS at Wade Park on Saturday was the first time he'd cracked triple figures in first grade after he fell agonisingly short (95) two seasons ago against the same opponents.
This time he made no mistake and helped guide the undefeated Cavs to 5-243 off their 40 overs.
"It feels pretty good to finally get over that mark," Middleton said.
"This season I'm feeling pretty good. I'm just feeling a lot more confident this year and feeling better when I am out there. Training has been pretty much the same, but it's just that confidence that I have now."
Middleton combined well with John Warrington (57) and put on 173 for the opening partnership. The centurion fell not long after his opening partner and admitted some nerves started to creep in towards the end.
"I wasn't really thinking about it too much until right near the end, which I guess helped more," he said.
"I had a rough idea I was in the 90s, but I didn't know what I was on exactly."
With ball in hand, Cavs ripped through the CYMS top order and at one point had them 6-17 in reply.
This was thanks mainly to Harry Pearce (2-11 off eight) and Joel Thomas (4-27 off eight).
CYMS captain Hugh Le Lievre (31) and Aquinder Dhillon (34) were the only ones who showed some resistance as the green and golds were bowled out for 106 in the 43rd over.
While Middleton was pleased by his performance, he was quick to praise the effort shown by the rest of his side.
"It was very good for our confidence. It was a hard bowling wicket and more of a batter's deck, but our bowlers showed that we can pretty much bowl on any deck and knock them over for not many runs," he said.
"It's a team game, so it's anyone's chance to score some runs. Then if we have that one person scoring runs, the rest of the team just have to build around that and it should work out for us."
Asked what his goals are going forward during the rest of the season, Middleton kept it pretty simple.
"I just want to keep up the momentum with my batting and for the team, just to keep the wins going," he said.
The victory pushed the undefeated Cavs to the top of the BOIDC ladder, while the winless CYMS sit in last place now.
