MSM Milling received a highly commended in the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages category for its auzure canola oil.
Director Peter Mac Smith said the focus had been putting together a non-genetically modified product where there was a clear link to the farmers.
MSM Milling has been exporting the product in China for the past two years through a business called Kaola, which minimises import duties in an effort to discourage the Daigou shopping market.
"Sales have been more than doubling every year, which is rewarding for us," he said.
"It's been a hard 24-36 months for everyone in our supply chain with the drought and the challenges it brings, but hopefully his gives everyone the enthusiasm to keep going forward and growing."
Move on mining
BUSINESSES involved in the mining, equipment, technology and services sectors met at Turners Vineyard on Friday as part of the Orana and Central West O2N Export Hub Project.
Regional Development Australia Orana regional development director Megan Dixon said the hub would support industry development.
"This will improve sustainability, increase investment, connect businesses and expand the potential for collaboration," she said.
"We are seeking input to better understand the local METS industry and what support is needed for growth."
Mrs Dixon said the workshops, hosted through Regional Development Australia, would also travel to Cobar, Mudgee, Dubbo and Parkes this month.
The hub will include one-on-one mentoring, connecting businesses with government export services, matching investment with innovations, business planning for export, readiness and advice on product development.
