Housing Plus fundraising and marketing co-ordinator Rochelle Monaghan said Saturday night's third annual White Tie Ball saw an increase of 100 people over last year with fundraising well up on last year's total of $40,000.
Mrs Monaghan said the money raised would ensure the fit-out of the first of the six units could go ahead.
She said earthworks were due to start at the property in August.
Mrs Monaghan said it was hoped the centre would be up and running by April next year.
Fundraising will now continue for the fit-out of the other five units.
Supporters of the ball included Australian Community Media and the Central Western Daily.
