CHANGES: A new tenant has been found for the old Bunnings site.

An existing large business in Orange will move into the former Bunnings site on Bathurst Road by early next year, according to the site’s property manager.

Sentinel Property Group managing director and CEO Warren Ebert said this week a unnamed tenant had finally been located after the building had sat idle for several years.

“The party we have agreed a deal with, while not the highest price, we feel will bring a lot of benefit to Orange and also to our centre,” Mr Ebert told WIN News.

“They are a very good retail operation.”

Mr Ebert said few retailers were large enough to need such a big space as the Bunnings site.

“Who would occupy that, there is not many so we understand we wouldn’t get knocked over in the rush and the decision we made was to chop it into smaller tenancies or go with a bigger retailer who really is a magnet for the centre and will draw a lot of people to the area,” he said.

The refurbishment would start late this year.
