Big Lotto win for lucky Dubbo mum who's eyeing off a new pool

The winner held one of the two division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4217, drawn Saturday 18 December 2021.

Each division one winning entry scored $2,942,875.50.

The winner said she had absolutely no idea she held one of the winning tickets.

"I just popped into the newsagency today to get some last-minute Christmas presents and while I was out, I thought I'd check my tickets," she said.

She said she couldn't stop shaking when the news was confirmed.

"The last few years have been terrible. They've been draining in so many ways. This prize changes absolutely everything for me," the winner said.

"I can't even begin to explain the difference this will make to my life and my kids' lives. This is life-changing. Bring on 2022.

"Everything I was worried about has suddenly disappeared....It's going to be a very happy Christmas now. It was already an especially happy Christmas because we're catching up with family we haven't seen in years, but now it's even better."

The mum said she was going to get a pool for her children for Christmas, and the rest she would save for their future.

"I'm sure I'll do something to spoil myself, but right now, all I can think about is my kids," she said.

News at the Mall owner Greg Stevenson said he was thrilled to know the winner had come forward and claimed her multi-million-dollar prize, just in time for Christmas.

"It was such a fantastic surprise when we found out one of our customers had won division one," he said.

"It's such a brilliant time to win with Christmas just around the corner.

"This great news has already spread around town, and all of our customers will be thrilled to know the winner has now claimed this prize. Our staff are all so excited by it and are hoping they sold the winning ticket."

News at the Mall has now had 11 major prize wins in seven years.

Mr Stevenson said he couldn't wait for the next one.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4217 on 18 December 2021 were 1, 44, 36, 29, 25 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 21 and 35.
