Having been with the club since its inception, he has taken on roles from vice-president to prepping the grounds.
So when he was named clubman of the year at the Warriors presentation night this week, it should have come as no shock.
"It means heaps," he said on receiving the award.
"You bust your butt every week all year to help them out and you do it because you love the club and then for them to give you an award, it's really touching.
"I've been with the club since it started. It's a good way for the boys to get out and show their skills because otherwise they don't get to play that much footy. It's good to see them get out and become part of the community and a family club."
In just their second year as a club, the Warriors made it to the Mid West Cup grand final. They lost that match to CSU, but Simpson knew how important it was to celebrate that achievement.
"It was good and it had to be done," he said on the decision to hold the presentation night.
"COVID is killing everything these days. So at least we could award the players for their hard work because for a club in it's second year to make the grand final is fantastic. Hopefully they can be the premiers for the next five, six years. They have the capability of doing it."
But it is not just Simpson who makes the club run and he was quick to point that out.
"Everyone that's involved with the club puts in, there's no slackers," he said.
"The boys and girls work hard in their training. All the committee get along really well and everyone throws their hand up on a weekend to help out.
"It's like one, big, happy family and that's the best thing about it. They are willing to take in anyone and give them a hand and it's a fantastic club to be a member of."
In some of the other major awards it was Bec Darcy and Dion Jones who took out the league tag and first grade MVP, while player's player for each team went to Kasey Byrne and Will Cusack.
