The Orange City all-rounder was named in the team for the upcoming edition of the state-wide Twenty20 tournament and is excited to get onto the field after rain has caused washout after washout so far this season.
"I lost a bit of love for the game last year, so I didn't really want a bar of it. Some things changed over the winter and allowed me to come back and I'm one of those people where if I'm in, I'm all in. Now I've got a bit of love for the game again," Morrish said.
"I love playing with the boys and that's a big thing about why I wanted to play again."
Morrish isn't the only Orange representative however, with CYMS' Hugh Le Lievre and Michael Delaney also getting the nod.
But there is one player in particular that Morrish is keen to share the field with.
"Blake Dean, from what I've seen, he's a pretty damn good cricketer," he said.
"You don't hit back to back 100s, left and right handed in Canberra first grade and not be any good."
Dean clubbed 74 runs in last year's semi-final to knock the Wranglers' regional rivals, Orana Outlaws, out of the hunt before he backed that effort up just several hours later in the grand final with an unbeaten 70 to help secure the title.
That grand final effort against the Lake Mac Attack included a devastating 21-run over.
Although they've not had a chance to get much cricket under their belt, a later starting date for the tournament (December 11) has helped.
"Usually Wranglers and all that other stuff is October and it's hard to find your rhythm," Morrish said.
"The positive for us is all players have either scored runs or taken wickets in the games they have played. They're actually performing, so going into next weekend as a team and individuals is positive as a whole.
"(Nic Broes) is big on making sure you know your role before you even go out to play. As long as we're well prepared for it, I think we'll do really well."
Fellow Wrangler Jameel Qureshi also thinks they are in with a shot.
"We have such a solid squad. Anyone in there is capable of winning you the game," he said.
"It's a special thing, having the opportunity to play at the SCG, and for us country boys it's not just for us, it's for our parents and families."
The Wranglers take on newly-named arch rivals Western Plains Outlaws at Wade Park on December 11. Their remaining pool games will be away the following day against Illawarra Flames and South Coast Crew.
