Cr Jones is one of 12 candidates on the ballot paper ahead of the Local Government Elections early next month. He'll stand as an independent.
He first won a seat on Cabonne council at the 2016 elections and has served as deputy mayor on council for the last two years.
He's confident a passion for small communities and a dedication to serve them will ensure he can help continue to deliver for Cabonne.
"I believe I have the runs on the board to show that I can continue to get results," Cr Jones said.
"I have enjoyed working with the community, my fellow Councillors and council staff to see many projects come to fruition."
... my focus will be on strategic upgrades and the maintenance of Council's vast road network.
- Jamie Jones
He said some of those projects include additional funding for maintenance and upgrade works to roads in the eastern areas of Cabonne.
While upgrades and investments to showgrounds and community halls across the shire, support for the expansion of the Cudal and Molong Preschools and village improvements, including the refurbishment of the Bank Street toilets in Molong, are some of the wins he's enjoyed in the last five years.
A volunteer firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service, Cr Jones says now more than ever it's important the Cabonne shire - which includes towns like Canowindra, Cargo, Cudal, Cumnock, Eugowra, Manildra, Molong and Yeoval - has a strong council to continue to facilitate growth in the area.
Born and raised in Cabonne, he believes there is no better place to invest, work and raise a family.
"If re-elected, my focus will be on strategic upgrades and the maintenance of Council's vast road network as well as village improvements and beautification. I will also continue to work with our towns and villages to lobby for funding for projects listed in their masterplans," he added.
"The current Council has been very successful in funding much-needed upgrades to community facilities right across Cabonne for current and future residents, but there is still a lot of work to do.
"And of course all this must be done while the council lives within its means to ensure we remain financially sustainable."
Nine councillors will be elected to Cabonne Shire Council for the new term. The Local Government Elections are on December 4.
