Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attempted to stop a Ford Falcon sedan on Cobbora Road for a random breath test about 12.30am on Saturday.
When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated by police and officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command. It was then terminated due to the nature of driving.
Several minutes later, police found the vehicle crashed into a power pole and fence on Fitzroy Street, North Dubbo.
The driver had left the scene; however, a 49-year-old woman found in the front passenger seat had suffered serious injuries and was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital.
Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit are en route from Sydney.
Inquiries are continuing into the identity of the driver.
