Jesse James Bennett, 20, of Adina Crescent, was riding the motorbike west on Bathurst Road at 4.05pm on January 11, when police noticed the motorcycle was possibly unregistered.
Bennett was on a learner licence and failed a breath test so he was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station for a breath analysis.
He returned a mid-range alcohol reading of 0.08.
He admitted to consuming a can of bourbon at 3.30pm.
Bennett was not present in Orange Local Court and his solicitor withdrew from his matter.
Magistrate David Day sentenced him in his absence.
Mr Day convicted him, fined him $550 and disqualified Bennett's driver's licence for three months.
Mr Day also placed Bennett on a 12-month interlock device.
