On Saturday, March, 20, the South Court in the Orange cultural precinct on Byng Street will be transformed by food stalls and live entertainers.
Starting at 4pm and going through until 8pm, organiser Anni Gallagher from the Migrant and Refugee Support Service said it was expected to be a "delightful day".
Attendees can purchase $8 tasting plates which will include a range of cuisines from Indonesia, Thailand and India with plenty of vegetarian options. Also on offer will be traditional Indigenous dishes.
The star performer for the day will be Orange's own Fattisha Kamara - an Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Caribbean dancer - who will entertain crowds throughout the event.
"Her first number will be an Afro-Brazilian [dance] with the beautiful big costumes that she makes with all the feathers and all the glitz and glamour," Ms Gallagher said. This will be followed by Afro-Caribbean number.
While crowd participation is usually encouraged at Harmony Day, guests will need to remain seated this year to adhere to the event's COVID-19 safety plan.
Other activities and performers on Saturday will include children's craft, yoga and instrumentalists from the Orange Conservatorium - fresh from their first performance the night before of Silk Road.
Featuring professional musicians from the ORC, the first instalment in the 2021 Chamber Music Series will give crowds a taste of the live performance which consists of a range of cultures and countries across the route of the old Sick Road.
