Orange's New Year's Eve celebration was close to a sell out on Thursday afternoon after crowd numbers were further reduced due to coronavirus restrictions.

Light Up Central West committee member Holly Manning said the numbers were reduced from 3000 to 1800 at the last minute and were close to selling out at 3pm.
About 1700 tickets have been sold.
Mrs Manning said the decision was made in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney.
"At the last minute we reduced the numbers because of our intention for everyone to feel safe and comfortable," she said.
"We are all pretty safe out here in theory, we just don't want any issues with the event.
"We've put so much work into it and we just want everybody to feel safe."
While fireworks displays have been the mainstay of the city's celebrations for many years this year will see a series of laser light displays from Sydney company Laservision.
The event is also being livestreamed on YouTube from 8.30pm.
Images from a test run this week show Orange is in for a unique event.
Tickets, costing $5 each, can be bought up until 5pm on Thursday through Eventbrite, Facebook, Instagram and the Orange City Council website.
You need to buy a ticket in advance as tickets will not be sold at the gate.
To meet COVID restrictions the capacity at Wade Park were initially reduced from 4000 to 3000 people this week.
It will be one of a few major public celebrations this New Year's Eve in NSW.
Most events in Sydney have been cancelled while crowds have been banned from attending the Sydney Harbour fireworks show at midnight.
The Wade Park event, which will include live music and Indigenous dance groups performing is on from 6.30pm-9.45pm.
