Orange City Council has revealed its list as it targets federal and state government grants to improve the city's liveability.
Council will also target funding for cultural projects including the Orange Regional Art Gallery extension and to build the new Orange Regional Conservatorium.
The $25 million sporting project planned for the former Country Club golf course at Bloomfield is also on the target list.
And it is seeking funding for COVID-19 recovery projects.
A report to this week's council meeting revealed Orange had received $32 million funding from the state government and $18 million in federal government funding since the last report was compiled in March 2018.
It said funding applications had been made for some of the priority projects while more would be considered for a range of state and federal funding schemes currently on offer.
Council will learn this week how much it will receive under the state's Resources for Regions program round six funding.
It said applications were now open for round seven.
The report also revealed how funding requests to the two levels of government for the same project have had mixed results.
A $10 million request for funding for the conservatorium/planetarium project destined for the Northcourt area was approved by the federal government.
However, it said an application to the state government had been unsuccessful.
It also showed council had to return $1.25 million awarded under the federal government's Bridges Renewal Program after tenders for duplicating the Forest Road bridge exceeded the amount of funding available.
Mayor Cr Reg Kidd said council needed to keep chasing funding.
"If you go through it we have been fortunate in receiving quite a few grants but we can't rest on our laurels," he said. "We've got to keep shaking the tree."
Cr Stephen Nugent asked about the Stronger Communities Fund from which he said Dubbo's council had received $27 million but Orange did not appear to have received any funds.
He said it was set up for merged councils but the eligibility had changed.
