Three trucks from Fire and Rescue NSW attended just after 11am.
Station officer Matt Jeffrey said the fire originated in an electrical component near the solar panel inverter on the hotel's ground floor, but the surrounding area was non-combustible.
"There was a degree of luck there," he said.
Mr Jeffrey said staff were already fighting the fire with extinguishers and evacuating patrons when firefighters arrived.
"We were given great assistance from the hotel staff in whatever we required of them," he said.
He said the component and the solar panels were isolated pending further examination from an electrician.
