As of 3.30pm on Friday, two days after Harry died in a water skiing accident on Wyangla Dam, the total had hit $16,678.
By Saturday it had passed its $20,000 goal, reaching nearly $24,000 by 12 noon.
Tributes have flooded in for Harry, who was a "much-loved" figure around Bloomfield Tigers and Orange Hawks as well as Canobolas Rural Technology High School.
Fundraiser organiser Hina Farrow, who was a former coach at the Tigers and coached Harry's brother Jack, said he was "devastated" when he heard the news.
"They're such a good family and at this time of year and they've been doing water skiing for years," he said.
The former Hawks player, who'd moved to Musswelbrook two years ago, messaged former coaches once he heard the news asking if anyone had set something up to support the family in whatever way possible.
"If we can buy them a few months to grieve, so they don't have to worry about work or anything, and they've got young Jack to look out for as well, anything can help," Mr Farrow said.
"Tammy and Jas, they've done so much for the town and the community."
