Sustainable gardening was chosen through consultation with teachers and five stamps were designed which explore environmental sustainability, edible gardening, plant and animal life cycles, as well as biodiversity.
Educational materials, including lesson plans, have been provided to primary schools like Calare Public School, with resources to engage students.
Australia Post general manager, Nicole Sheffield said the theme encourages families to roll up their sleeves and have some fun with sustainable gardening projects.
"It's the perfect opportunity to explore the outdoors and learn about composting, being water-wise, and plant and animal life cycles," said Ms Sheffield.
The five stamps are set in a suburban garden and feature native trees, shrubs and ground-cover plants.
The scenes depict a range of projects including building and tending to a worm farm, rainwater garden, nest box and veggie patch.
They were designed by Andrew Hopgood who has illustrated a number of children's books focused on sustainability and the environment.
