Volkswagen announced it is halting production of the last version of its Beetle model at its plant in Puebla, Mexico this week.
The cars had a history spanning eight decades since 1938 in Nazi Germany and taking off in post-war Germany.

In time Beetle mania set in and they were sold all over the world with the one millionth Beetle rolling off the assemble line in a town, which is now named Wolfsburg in 1955.
Of course the most famous was Herbie the Love Bug, a replica of which has previously made guest appearances at Gnoo Blas.
