On Monday, magistrate David Day said Tayah Moffitt, 30, of Cypress Street, crossed the threshold for a custodial sentence but it could be served in the community, so he gave her a total of 70 hours of community service.

Moffitt represented herself in Orange Local Court for separate offences against three people related to intimidation using mobile phones when she lived at Kandos.

"I've moved back down here to get away from those sort of people," she said.  

Moffitt was given a 12-month supervised community correction order with 20 hours of community service for intimidation after she called a man more than 30 times a day between October 25 and November 1, 2018, and sent several threatening text messages.

The texts included, "now I'm leaving and I'm gonna make sure ur dead", "I see u I'm gonna smash u" and "I'm gonna f***n slit your throat".

According to police, the victim tried blocking her number but she continued to call on a private number. He was also charged with threatening Moffitt.

Moffitt was also given two 15-month intensive correction orders with two concurrent 50 hour community service orders for intimidation and using a carriage service to menace and harass a woman when she wanted to retrieve clothes.

Between 4pm and 6.30pm on January 21, Moffitt called the victim 20 times and sent an abusive voicemail and 19 text messages that included: "Ignore me and see what happens"  and "I curse you.. pure hatred may you just f**n die" [sic]. 

The offences breached good-behaviour conditions given for intimidation and using a carriage service to threaten to kill a man between June 29 and January 8, 2018. Among more than 100 text messages sent to a man were threats to kill and to harm him and a child.

She was resentenced and given a 12-month community correction order for intimidation starting from Monday and she was convicted without passing sentence on the condition she pay a $500 security and be of good behaviour for 12 months.
