Lucknow Advisory Committee member Bruce Heinrich, who has lived overlooking the highway in the village for a quarter of a century, said he’d seen “next to nothing” from the master plan since it was released in 2015.
The plan listed guttering and kerbing along the main street, revitalisation of the street-front and a “green space” as a checklist to tick off in the next 12 months.
Three years on and Mr Heinrich said he “can’t say I’ve seen any activity at all” in improving the streetscape.
I think it’s time they get a bit more assertive about what they want to do out here considering they’ve only got two villages.

“We’re not asking for much,” he said.
“Get a bit of beautification around the place, make it clean and tidy and make it look like someone lives here so people have a reason to stop and see the place.
“After that you could look at other things as they come along.
Mr Heinrich said he didn’t “want to be critical of the council” but residents were feeling neglected.
“I think it’s time they get a bit more assertive about what they want to do out here considering they’ve only got two villages,” he said.
Mayor Reg Kidd said he supported improving infrastructure in Lucknow, and said as one of the biggest and oldest gold mines in the country it had the history to rival Sovereign Hill in Victoria.
He said he had undertaken preliminary discussions with councillor Tony Mileto, who chairs the committee which includes Lucknow and Spring Hill.

Cr Mileto is out of the country and couldn’t be reached for comment, but Cr Kidd said he would have further discussions with him and put the matter before council in the next month.
“There should be a budget for Lucknow or Spring Hill, they shouldn’t come to us cap in hand every time they need something done,” Cr Kidd said.
“I’m waiting for Tony to get back and when he does we’ll discuss Lucknow and Spring Hill as well.”
