They have the size and strength to push their way over the line to score, but are also fast enough to make a break and finish it off.
There’s plenty of experience to choose from in Brad Pugh, or maybe you like the young enthusiasm of Orange City’s Duncan Young?
You can only pick two for your final team.
THE CONTENDERS:
Brad Pugh - Dubbo Kangaroos
Pugh has moved from the backline to flanker and has grown in the position.
His work rate around the paddock is impressive and he has developed into a competitive flanker.
As a former speedster in the backline his mobility is one of his best assets.
Dan Ryan - Parkes Boars
A NSW Country representative who is a tough competitor.
Ryan can play anywhere in the back five, such is his experience and versatility.
The Parkes captain has no shortage of skills and this makes him a consistent performer.
Duncan Young - Orange City Lions
He might be one of the youngest players in the defending premiers’ line-up, but Young is one of the most dangerous.
He is quick to the breakdown and often pilfers the ball.
Young is also a solid kicking option for the Lions and doesn’t shy away from the tough work needed in defence.
Adam Meiklejohn - Cowra Eagles
Meiklejohn’s fitness makes him an excellent competitor.
He has great ball skills but also stands up to everything thrown at him in defence.
This flanker is excellent in the line out and gets through plenty of work.
Israel Symington - Parkes Boars
It is his versatility which makes Symington such a great player.
Most probably know him as a second-rower, but this season he has spent more time on the flank of the scrum and proven very handy.
His ball skills are really impressive and his experience means he’s always in the contest.
