A third teenager has been charged following a confrontation with police in the Central West as a critical incident investigation continues.

Officers from Central West Police District attended Calarie Road, Forbes, shortly after 3am on Monday, December 27, in pursuit of a ute, which had been reported stolen.
At Daroobalgie Road, the ute stopped, and the driver exited the vehicle, pursued by police on foot.
At this time, a second vehicle allegedly drove at police before police discharged their firearm.
A 16-year-old boy suffered a wound to his left calf and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.
Two teens - also aged 16 - were charged at the time and remain before the courts.
The injured 16-year-old boy was released from hospital and arrested by investigators at St Mary's Police Station on Thursday, December 30.
He was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
The teenager was also charged with being armed with intent commit an indictable offence, affray, and destroy or damage property, in relation to an unrelated incident at Forbes on Boxing Day.
He appeared at Parramatta Children's Court on Friday, December 31, where he was formally refused bail to appear at a children's court in January 2022.

A critical incident team from Orana Mid-West Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the discharge of a police firearm.
That investigation will be subject to independent review.
