Taking on Bathurst City in the Bathurst and Orange Inter District Cricket competition, the defending premiers finished day one of their two-day match all out for 323 at Bloomfield Oval.

"It's a good solid start and it's nice to have a good amount of runs to bowl at this weekend," Seib said.

"As a bowler, having 320 gives you confidence and you can almost change your mindset to be more aggressive, whereas having 150 or below you have to be a bit defensive and be smart about what balls you bowl and the partnerships you have."

Orange City sat in fifth place heading into this round, with two wins, two draws and a loss to their name.

Seib has picked up just the lone wicket for the season but believes his side are coming into their own.

"Everyone is still a bit rusty having not played a few games," he said.

"It's been a slow start, but we're beginning to get a bit warmer weather and we're starting to get a few more games of cricket. We've only played three games now and haven't played a T20 game, so it's a bit hard.

"But you can't really do anything about it so you just have to go with it."

On that note, temperatures are predicated to top out at 30 degrees on Saturday and despite the healthy first innings total, Seib knows they will have their work cut out for them.

"It's going to be a hot one for us to bowl in," he said.

"We lost a few players this season, but we've got some youngsters who have come up. Gus Cornish made his maiden first grade 50 last weekend and Tynan Southcombe's coming in and there are also a few boys pushing first grade which is always good.

"Losing a few players can be a bit tough but we go in with a positive mindset and we've got the team to do that."

The other BOIDC games continuing on Saturday are Cavaliers v St Pat's at Riawena Oval, City Colts v Centrals at Loco Oval, Rugby Union v CYMS at Morse Park 1 and finally Centennials Bulls v ORC at George Park 1.
