Loretta Adeline Lyall, 41, of Torpy Street, was captured on the store's CCTV footage on the morning of July 10 taking a backpack out of a shopping trolley and walking off with it.
According to police, the red and grey backpack and its contents - new clothing - was collectively valued at $100.
On July 20, when police attended Lyall's address and questioned her over the theft, she denied taking the backpack.
On October 11 when Lyall failed to appear before court over the matter, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Monday, when she again failed to appear in Orange Local Court it was the third time she had breached her bail conditions.
In sentencing, magistrate David Day noted Lyall's "appalling record", before convicting her for larceny and fining her $550.
