A 30-year-old man was taken to Orange Police Station and slapped with a range of charges following the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He'll face Orange Local Court on Tuesday.

He's facing traffic and assault offences after allegedly assaulting two officers from the Central West Police District Proactive Crime Team at around 2.30am on November 28 after they sighted an unregistered Honda Trail motorcycle.

Police attempted to stop the rider, however those attempts were ignored, and shortly after the rider lost control of the bike when he rode through a vacant paddock near Lone Pine Avenue.

Officers commenced a foot pursuit and the man was arrested.

During attempts to restrain the man, he allegedly bit and punched a Senior Constable to the face and punched another Constable in the leg. OC spray, or pepper spray, was deployed during the arrest.

During that struggle the man allegedly called upon a group of males in the area to help him and they surrounded the officers and made threats.

A short time later, a male from the group rode the motorcycle away, before the rest of the group left on foot.

The 30-year-old man charged with driving a vehicle on the road without holding a license, holding suspected stolen goods, assaulting police and resisting or hindering police in the execution of duty.

He appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Sunday, where he was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court on Tuesday.
