Currently living in Dubbo, Norton is looking to move to Orange as soon as possible after being appointed cricket manager within Cricket NSW.
This means that as well as seeing him in red and black over the weekend, you'll likely see him doing laps of Jack Brabham as he hopes to grow the city's juniors through the Master and Junior Blaster program.
"The key demographic is five to 12-year-olds and promoting cricket in those groups," he said.
"Master Blasters, Junior Blasters in Bathurst and Orange through the local associations and clubs, that is the key to the job, but we also get into schools to promote cricket and there's a fair bit of admin behind cricket as well, so we're assisting with that in any way we can."
Norton took over the position which was previously held by Matt Tabbernor for 11 years. As a result Norton will be in charge of everything cricket from Grenfell to Mudgee and everywhere in-between.
"I absolutely love it," he said on the role.
"It's what you dream of doing if you can't get the baggy green. It's the next best thing."
But as well as developing Orange's next superstars, he is also hoping to score a few runs for Centrals, starting on Sunday in their Royal Hotel Cup clash against Lithgow at Riawena Oval at 2pm.
"I've run into a lot of clubs with my work and I was at the Carl Sharpe centre having a hit with them and they asked if I wanted to line up for a (Royal Hotel Cup) game and the dates work," he said.
"It's probably not my best format, but it's good to get into a game where there's not as much pressure. In being a top order bat, if I get out early in a T20 I'm not sitting there for 80 overs watching the rest of the day."
He is currently listed as a marquee player, but once the move to Orange is finalised, he will be hoping to play full time for the club. Although he hasn't had the chance to play against Orange competition, he has seen good things in his travels.
"I've seen a few of the junior rep games over the last couple of years in my previous role and having played a bit of Premier League cricket for Dubbo over the last few years," Norton added.
"I've never had the chance to play against Orange but I have played against Bathurst a few times and some excellent cricketers from all towns in the Central West, so I'm very excited to come and have a go and see how I go."
Weather permitting, Orange City will also play Kinross in the Royal Hotel Cup at Riawena Oval on Sunday, with it schedule to start at 10am. Other matches for the round include Centennials Bulls against St Pat's Old Boys as well as ORC against Rugby Union.
