The 2020 winner, Jones Comerford, has not signed up for the two day amateur championship which runs on November 20 and 21, but big names like Robert Payne, Wayne Carpenter and Andy Campbell will be taking to the course.
Harry Cummins from the Duntryleague Pro Shop said they had taken extra precautions to make sure the event goes ahead.
"Everything is open at the moment. We've had to have carts off up until Friday to preserve the course so that it is in the best condition we can to accommodate for all the members and guests playing in the Open this weekend," he said of the wet weather which has hit the city these past few weeks.
"We've got most of our usual members that we'd see. We've got a lot of people coming from Dubbo, some from Camden, people from Penrith, a few from Wellington, Wentworth, a couple from Ryde in Parramatta and North Ryde, so a lot from Sydney."
Dubbo's Jones Comerford was last year's champion, but despite a runner-up at the Golf NSW Country Championship earlier this month, will not be taking to the Duntryleague course this time around to defend his title.
There will be a morning and an afternoon group teeing of, with the first group to tee off from 6.30am to 8.30am and the second group starting at 11am with the last tee off time being 1pm.
