This is the first time the club has decided to go down this route and event organiser Fletcher Niven couldn't be happier.
"What we have is a lot of Central West clubs and smaller towns around here who say the top division is too hard and that they get belted every year," he said.
"What we wanted to do was the second grade sides, the President's Cup and all the other competitions, to give them a division they can play like-minded teams that aren't going to run all over them and end up not enjoying their time."
And while that decision is sure to bring smiles to a few clubs around the region, it wasn't all good news.
Despite having locked in a date - March 12 - for the Orange City Rugby Invitational Tens, teams hoping to compete will likely have to wait a month until they can officially register.
"It's a little bit frustrating, with the ARU (Rugby Australia) who registers our tournament having closed their website for maintenance for two months," Niven added.
"All I can do is put out a notification of intended starting date and what our comps are going to be, but nobody can register online yet until around December 15 when the ARU website is back up."
Despite the setback, he said initial interest had still been strong and he hoped the club was able to reveal the finer details shortly.
"We have four or five teams who barely ever miss a year who have shown their intention, but there's not a whole lot they can do at this stage," Niven said.
"What really surprised me is the amount of viewings we had on the Facebook post. It was about 4800 and we'd never had those kind of numbers.
"What we do find, if we play it one week later, all the Sydney sides are after 15s pre-season comps. (The chosen date) is basically to attract more Sydney, and touch wood, Canberra teams to play some pre-season stuff in Orange.
"In the next two to three weeks we will put out the details of exactly what prize each division will be to keep them all in the loop."
