According to the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD), the person was in the community while infectious.
Up to 8pm last night there were 8 new cases identified in across the health district: These were in Dubbo (1), Walgett (4), Wellington (2) and Orange (1).
The new Dubbo case and the two in Wellington were also infectious in the community.
On Thursday morning, WNSWLHD said there would continue to be long lines for testing at the Wade Park and Orange Showgrounds drive-through clinics, thanking residents for showing up in such large numbers in response to the listing of multiple exposure sites.
"Please be patient, staff are working as quickly as possible to get everyone tested," they wrote on social media.
More venues were added to the city's list of concern this morning, including the Ophir Hotel, Early Settler and Kmart.
In total, there have been 1524 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in WNSWLHD.
Throughout Wednesday, there were long lines at both clinics after a menswear store, an art gallery and a pharmacy were listed alongside nine other locations on NSW Health's latest update of exposure sites.
All of Orange's venues of concern can be found at: https://www.nsw.gov.au/.../case-locations/exposure-sites
Testing is available at the Orange Showgrounds and Wade Park from 8am to 4pm. Bookings are not required, but long waits are expected.
