For almost 25 years, Mrs Hicks and her team of volunteers have sent shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts to disadvantaged children around the world.
An initiative of Samaritan's Purse, a non denominational evangelical Christian organisation, Operation Christmas Child will this year send boxes to kids in Malawi, Madagascar, Solomon Islands, Cambodia and Fiji.
"I love to see children know that people love them and care for them," Mr Hicks said.
Work on creating the boxes runs year round, but with this year's COVID interruptions, Mrs Hicks says the number of boxes finished may be slightly down on previous years.
She is encouraging the public to join her for a working bee this Saturday, October 16 from 10am-2pm at the Kenna Hall to pack boxes and help make items such as jigsaw puzzles and toys.
Participants will need to wear a mask, be fully vaccinated and bring their own mug and lunch.
