Specialty coffee roasters Seven Miles has acquired boutique Orange-based coffee roaster Bills Beans Pty Ltd.
The acquisition of Bills Beans - which has been a prominent part of the Orange coffee scene for more than 13 years - brings 100 additional cafe customers to Seven Miles.
The acquisition will result in the addition of the Orange roastery to Seven Miles' existing micro-roasteries in Canberra and Brisbane, as well as its roastery and headquarters in Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Bills Beans was started in 2007 by Lisa Poole and Bill Parianos and the acquisition comprises not only its namesake brand, but additional coffee blends and brands that Seven Miles will add to its portfolio.
As well as favourites like Orange Roasting Co and Caffeine Collective, Seven Miles will welcome Bills Beans directly sourced specialty tea brand, Remy & Max.
Seven Miles CEO Jenny Willits said the acquisition builds on a strategy of local roasting to support cafes and coffee lovers.
"Orange has a long history of outstanding food and drink credentials and Bills Beans has always been one of the region's best kept secrets," she said.
"Similarly to Seven Miles, Bills Beans is passionate about delivering exceptional coffee and we look forward to introducing our new customers to the Seven Miles experience.
"We are thrilled to celebrate this latest milestone in our growth story and look forward to welcoming the Bills Beans team into the Seven Miles family.
"This builds on our strategy of local roasting, supporting cafes and coffee lovers with exceptional coffee in their community."
Bills Beans director Lisa Poole said there were a few offers for the business that were considered but Seven Miles stood out.
"There is so much synergy between our beliefs and values - delivering quality coffee, providing exceptional service, supporting local communities - it really felt like a meeting of two minds," she said.
