They say it will be held from 5pm-10pm on a Friday and Saturday night.
"A Night in Nashville is an event for the Orange community, for locals and to welcome tourists that provides a great night of country music, themed costumes, entertainment, food and fun," the request said.
"The event will feature and bring exposure to local musicians and we intend for it to become a highly-anticipated annual event."
It said they were working toward having accommodation and event ticket packages for tourists.
The request said it would attract up to 900 people.
The event would be subject to COVID health regulations at the time.
Meanwhile at its latest meeting council approved sponsorship funding for a range of events planning to return in 2021 or next year.
That includes the return of the popular Wine Festival Night Market which is scheduled for Friday October 1.
Council agreed to provide $10,000 subject to it being able to go ahead with the prevailing COVID health rules.
The Orange Region Vignerons Association is expecting a crowd of up to 6000 in Robertson Park and potentially including the Southcourt area outside the Visitor Information Centre.
Other events to receive funding included Canobolas Endurance Riders Club for the Matar Stables Bullio Cup 2021, Western NSW LHD for the Health Expo 2021, the Rotary Club of Orange Inc. for the National Bush Poetry Performance Championship 2022 and the Orange Chamber Music Festival for the Cultured - Orange Chamber Music Festival 2022.
