At around 6.40pm on August 23, Orange City SES responded to multiple calls for help from the Spring Street and Hale Street areas.
"(This was) due to what one resident described as a 'small tornado' that had removed roofs, damaged many buildings extensively, crushed a vehicle and blocked roads with large fallen trees and building debris," a message from the SES read.
"With assistance from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 412 Orange, Central West Police District, Essential Energy and Orange City Council these effected areas were attend to, residents accounted for and properties made safe with several sites requiring additional resources that will be bought in during daylight hours."
From 3pm on Monday until 5am Tuesday morning, Orange recorded 48mm of rain and there has been a total of 51mm of rain from 12.50pm yesterday until 7.40am today.
"As of 11:20pm, Orange City SES has received 16 calls for assistance from different parts of the city with our members still out clearing these jobs as quickly as possible," the SES added.
"If you require emergency help during storms or floods, call 132 500. If you feel it is a life threatening situation, dial 000 immediately."
The weather isn't meant to let up today either, with Weatherzone predicting Orange to be hit with between 10 and 20mm of rain, with a top of 5 degrees Celsius.
