The hospital occupies two levels of the Bloomfield Medical Centre opposite Orange Health Service.
It has five fully-equipped theatres with the latest equipment, imaging, and information, communications and technology systems.
Orange Private Hospital director Dr Bill Mackie said he was glad the new hospital has finally opened and it is starting with about 55 staff but that will increase as the hospital expands.
"We basically doubled the number of employees," Dr Mackie said.
"It's quite a bit bigger, the old day surgery only had two day surgeries and we have opened five.
"It will integrate with the other local services, allowing local and visiting health professionals to keep Orange in its preeminent position in regional healthcare."
Mr Mackie said he also wanted to thank staff for their hard work in bringing this outstanding project to fruition.
As a result of the move, the Orange Surgical Centre in McNamara Street, has now closed and the leased premises can be used for another purpose.
Orange Private Hospital is being managed by Nexus Hospitals as part of a joint venture.
Nexus Hospitals Chief Operating Officer Scott Bell was also pleased the hospital is open.
The hospital had a soft opening on July 7 with 61 operations conducted last week. A formal opening will be held in coming months once the COVID situation has settled down.
So far, all the surgeries have been day surgeries but bigger cases requiring overnight stays are expected to start in two weeks time.
Over the last month the hospital gained its licence from NSW Health and full accreditation to National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
There are also a range of services that are provided in various specialties including, bariatric surgery, breast surgery, colorectal surgery, cosmetic surgery and endocrine.
Ears, nose and throat surgery, gastrointestinal and pulmonary endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology and head and neck surgery will also be undertaken there.
Other services include, ophthalmology, oral surgery, orthopaedic surgery, paediatric surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, respiratory care, sleep studies, upper gastrointestinal surgery, and urology.
