Workers have installed the seats on McNamara Street after the first pod was placed on Lords Place outside the Crema on Lords coffee shop last month.
Orange City Council's Employment and Economic Development Policy Committee chair Tony Mileto said he was pleased to see the latest transportable booths installed in McNamara Street.
"In McNamara Street two of the booths are side by side. They're a slightly different design to the other one. They're made to be installed on a footpath or a park, as compared to the Lords Place unit that's built to be installed in a roadway or parking area," he said.
Cr Mileto said these two booths cost $56,000.
"In due course someone enjoying a coffee there will be able to charge their mobile phone, or plug in a laptop. They're made to be portable. They come with wheels, so they can be conveniently rolled onto a low-loader and moved to a new location," he said.
The booths are being trialled in their current locations. "We'll be interested to hear feedback from nearby businesses to see how they are being used. In Lords Place the coffee shop is running a gas heater on the booth for its customers."
Cr Mileto said council was keen to hear from other businesses wanting to have a booth outside their premises.
