After a tough loss to Bathurst and up against an in-form Dubbo Senior College many had tipped to travel south to Orange and make light work of the hosts, the Hornets rose to the challenge in the final leg thanks to commanding performances on the hockey pitch and the basketball and netball courts to head into Wednesday's final day of action up by 80 points.
Photographer Jude Keogh and our roving Astley Cup sleuth Riley Krause were both on deck throughout the day and snapped these action and social photos from the opening day of the cup tie in Orange.
On Wednesday students took on the boys' and girls' soccer, the athletics and the tennis events.
