David Collins from Charred Kitchen & Bar won the 2021 NSW Wine President's Award for outstanding support of the NSW wine industry.
The special award is presented at the discretion of NSW Wine Industry Association president Mark Bourne, and given to someone that has shown outstanding commitment to showcasing NSW wines.
"David's list hosts 244 wines from all over NSW (840 wines in total), making it arguably the biggest list of NSW wines in the country," Mr Bourne said.
As part of the award, Mr Collins won a trip around the Hunter Valley, including two nights accommodation at The White House, including Pooles Rock Wines, dinner for two at Hunters Quarter, and some premium winemaker experiences.
Charred Kitchen & Bar also received stars for its wine list as did Birdie Noshery & Drinking Establishment and Lolli Redini Restaurant. The winners were announced at a ceremony at Government House in Sydney.
There were 38 finalists who were whittled down to the top six lists.
The regional wine list award winners included David Lowe from The Zin House, Mudgee, for small venue, Pete Cutcliffe from Bill's Fishhouse, Port Macquarie for a large venue and Matt Underwood from The Newcastle Club, Newcastle, for accommodation venue.
