To try and renew a community call-to-arms for blood donations, staff from Orange Health Service launched its annual Red Love campaign on Saturday. The aim of which is to save 1000 lives between now and November.
With hospital workers often on the frontline of the need for blood, the Orange community is being encouraged to follow their lead and become blood donors this winter.
Aiding the blood drive was country musician Clancy Pye who performed the song she wrote for the campaign, 'I Give For You'.
"The need for blood has not stopped... in fact, our need for blood plasma donations is now at a record high," Australian Red Cross Lifeblood spokesperson John Feist said.
"These donations are a lifeline for cancer patients, new mums, accident victims, and many other seriously ill Australians."
