A driver who pled guilty to using illicit drugs reacted angrily in Orange Local Court on Monday when he learnt his licence would be disqualified for three months.

David John Quick, 38, of Glenroi, was driving on Spring Street on December 16, 2020, when he was was stopped by police for random road-side testing.
An oral fluid test had subsequently given a positive result for cannabis.
A secondary drug test at Orange Police Station found both cannabis and methamphetamine present in his blood.
When asked about his drug taking, Quick told police: "I smoked cannabis yesterday morning".
Appearing in Orange Local Court on Monday, magistrate David Day told Quick that recreational drug-use and holding a driver's license were "mutually exclusive" due to the length of time drugs remained detectable after consumption.
Mr Day also noted that Quick's "record in general is not good."
The accused responded by saying: "I was hopeless in the past, what can I say?"
For the offence of driving with illicit drugs present in his blood, Quick was convicted, fined $330 and had his license disqualified.
Quick responded to Mr Day's sentencing with visible anger, exclaiming: "you're going to take my licence for three months?!" before storming out of of the courtroom.
