Despite the parents' unexplained absence sentencing went ahead without them and the court heard the children's attendance has not improced.
The Orange couple is not named to protect the identities of the now 15-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter.
Magistrate David Day fined each parent $550 for not sending each child to school amounting to $2200 for the couple.
The couple's teenage son had not attended school for 49 whole days out of 49 in terms 2 and 3 in 2020.
Their primary-school-aged daughter did not attend school for 32 whole days and 13 partial days in the same period.
One of the schools involved initially reached out to the parents in October 2018 due to concern about their daughter's attendance.
The school attempted to arrange meetings before court proceedings were undertaken.
