The show will take place on May 8 and 9 at Orange Showground after being cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tess Crossley was awarded the position in 2017 and said the word "Miss" has been dropped from the title.
"We are looking for young ladies who are interested in competing in the competition and being ambassadors for the area," Miss Crossley said.
"It is an ambassador role not this beauty pageant that people often mistake it for.
"It's to show your love for Orange and its wider community."
Miss Crossley said entrants must be aged between 18 and 24 and they will take part in a range of events throughout the year.
"We try and get them involved in more and more events," she said.
"It's a lot of fun, you get to go and do more stuff in the community than you usually can."
The Orange Showgirl will also go on to compete in a showgirl competition and each year the top three zone winners go on to judging at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney.
She said an information night will be held closer to the event.
Judging will take place on April 24, contact showgirl@orangeshowsociety.org.au for more information.
