A revised development application for the centre which will have spaces for 155 children shows that while it is still within the precinct, it has been moved north-east.
It was previously behind the new Remington Hotel Orange and is now proposed to be placed behind the main tower block on the premises.
The revised DA is currently on public exhibition at Orange City Council until Friday April 2.
"The development application is being re-advertised due to substantial changes being made to the proposal," it states.
A child care centre is the latest evolution of work on the Forest Road site opposite Orange Hospital.
It follows the completion of the main medical tower block, where work is progressing on the Orange Private Hospital, and the motel.
The new centre will also provide 115 car parking spaces.
That includes 55 spaces on the northern side of the new building.
"Of these, 33 spaces will be dedicated to the child care centre while 22 will be shared with the precinct," it said.
Six spaces and a drop-off zone for the child care centre will also be provided.
Apart from indoor facilities there would also be an outdoor play centre for the children.
As with the previous DA it will provide for 27 staff when fully operational.
The new site also places the child care centre further away from the neighbouring Gosling Creek Aged Care facility.
"The potential for the development to cause acoustic or privacy impacts upon the existing aged care facility that lies to the south is minimal," the DA states.
"There is generous separation that exists between the uses.
"By its very design, the proposed child care centre 'turns its back' to the aged care facility.
"The more active areas of the proposed child care centre (the outdoor play areas) are oriented to the north and west and the proposed building itself provides shielding to the aged care facility."
Like the previous application the operating hours are not stated but it does suggest it will go beyond the standard 7am-7pm hours to suit shift workers at the health services and the Cadia mine.
