An elderly man has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after a crash involving a car and a truck in Orange on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services responded to reports of the multi-vehicle accident just after midday on Friday, with police confirming initial inquiries suggest the car pulled from the side of the road into the path of the oncoming truck.
Two NSW Ambulance crews were also dispatched to the scene near the Leeds Parade intersection and transported the driver of the car - an 86-year-old male - to Orange Hospital with minor injuries.

The Northern Distributor was closed in both directions for a short time while the damaged vehicles and debris was cleared, with a tow truck called. Police confirmed the road was all but reopened as of about 1.15pm.
Police have commenced an investigation into the cause of the accident.
