Orange Hawks and Orange CYMS dominated their opposition during the pre-season event before they met in the grand final.
It was the Hawks that came out on top in the end, defeating their city rivals 14-6 in the decider.
Victorious captain Bec Ford was pleased with the win but admitted they still have plenty to work on.
"I always knew we had a really talented side and it was nice to see we showed positive signs and that we could put our attack together," she said.
"We do need to work on our combinations and it's looking really positive for the season and it's always nice to get a win against our home town rivals."
Hawks' road the final was one of dominance. They outscored their opposition 40-0 in the first three games, before squeaking home against Cargo 12-8 in the semi-final.
Coach Steve Pearce said the group grew as the day went on.
"We went over not expecting too much out of it. The first game was a bit off, but as we went on it got better and better," he said.
"The girls played really well, especially in defence.
"We'll get a lot better than what we were on the weekend."
A few of the notable performances for Pearce came from Bec Prestwidge, Chelsea Amone and newcomer Saige King who ran in a couple of tries in her first go round for the senior side.
For Ford, the win means a lot after a string of runner-up performances.
"We've always sat behind St Pat's. I think we've come second three or four times," she said.
"For many years we've been sitting behind St Pat's so it was nice to finally get the win over there.
"CYMS had a few of their more dominant players out playing touch football. We also had a couple of our key players out, so I think the real test will be when we come up against them in the Group 10 season.
"We have a very young and talented side, mixed in with a strong leadership group of girls who have played for some time. I think giving the young players the confidence to play some eyes up football will be the key to our success."
