The initial call came at 4.02am and NSW Police along with Fire and Rescue NSW officers responded to reports of two cars on fire at McNeilly Avenue, on the eastern side of the city.
They discovered two vehicles well alight and firefighters extinguished the blaze in approximately 30 minutes, the fire completely destroying a white Holden Commodore and an Iveco panel van.
It was determined the fire originated from the Commodore, with the panel van going up in flames as a result of its proximity to the blaze.
