Co-owner and operator Jade Evans said they had been asked to come to Orange several times while at other towns and the decision paid off with strong crowd numbers and plenty of enthusiasm.
Although rain washed out morning activities at the Fun Fair Summer Splash Mrs Evans heralded the sell-out weekend as a success.
Along with the traditional sideshow rides and activities was a dagwood dog eating competition.
Winner, Bevan Kelly said he bought a dagwood dog from an Orange take-away shop a couple of days before he entered Saturday's competition to see if he liked the battered sausages.
He did enjoy it and euring the timed-event he chowed down on two-and-a-half dagwood dogs in three minutes to edge out the other six contenders.
"I'm usually a very good eater so I thought I would give it a crack," Mr Kelly said.
"They were a lot bigger than I expected them to be."
Mr Kelly said the dagwood dogs were served hot and he had to wash each mouthful down with water as he raced against the clock.
His family cheered him on but turned away because, "it looked sickening".
Mr Kelly ate a cinnamon doughnut before using the five game tickets and spending the $100 he won on show bags.
Mrs Evans said 1000 people attended the capacity event on each day, with 500 people attending each session and feedback from food and showbag vendors was positive.
"The Ferris wheel and dodgem cars were most popular," she said.
She said the bubble pit was also popular as were dagwood dogs and fairy floss with some people buying take home packs.
The fair will continue next weekend with sessions from 11am-3pm, and 4.30pm-8.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets to both weekends can be pre-purchased for $30 online (for four hours of unlimited rides at https://www.ticketebo.com.au/jubilee-amusements-au or for $35 at the gates.
